KATANA: Zanpakutosby ~Odd-One-Out

Commissioned by *Fighting-Fox,*ShadowChan, and a non-deviant.

These were finished a long time ago and all feature curved blades and proper tsukamaki wrap. Hyourinmaru has a silver chain which attaches to a crescent moon. Unfortunately it was not possible to wrap the tsukamaki with the precise shade of blue for Hyourinmaru or Shinso because the cord did not come in the required colours.
Hyourinmaru is a full length katana, while Yachiru's unnamed Zanpakuto is a wakizashi and Shinso is tanto lengthed. I swear the photo makes them look a lot shorter than they are :\

These swords will be at the London MCM Expo May 08, so if you happen to see these swords just holla' at the cosplayers!

could i please ask you where could i find a blade to make a katana about 20 cm long?
like what do i need to buy ?

You'd need to make a katana blade from strip pine, usually the ones I use have width of 9cm and thickness of 1.5cm.

The length should be long enough to draw a curve on it, ready to saw out with a coping saw.

Fantastic swords, by the way. I tried to make one out of plywood, it worked, i have the blade, handle and tsuba all ready, but now i must be brave and put them together. And paint them

I did Byakuya's Zanpakuto, as it was the easiest tsuba design i could find T-T

Yes I make swords, but they tend to be for commissions, I hardly make them for myself haha. Thank you for the complients on my katanas, they're much appreciated. Glad to hear that you're also making your own Senbonzakura - good luck and if you've done the hard part, putting the pieces together will be a breeze.

Yes, I saw him briefly at the Expo. I won't be at October's Expo sadly
